Digital Envoy creates new business unit devoted to IP Intelligence for online advertising, local search and analytics applications

Focus on Internet Networks, Web sites and Search Engines

ATLANTA (Sept. 13, 2005) – Digital Envoy, the inventor and leading provider of IP Intelligence solutions, today announced the creation of a new business unit – Digital Element – focused on the use of IP Intelligence for the delivery of targeted online advertising, Web analytics, and local search optimization, aimed at Internet networks, Web sites and search engines.

“This move will help Digital Element solidify its position as the recognized leader in IP Intelligence,” said Bill Calpin, Digital Envoy President and CEO. “Since we introduced ‘geo-intelligence’ or ‘geo-location’ six years ago, we have grown our coverage to 99.9 percent of the Internet, collecting more than one million points-of-view daily from different online vantage points. The creation of the new business unit demonstrates our ongoing commitment to maintain our status as the de facto standard for IP Intelligence. We will continue to add breadth and depth to our data in order to develop new applications within the vertical markets currently being served.”

Calpin will maintain his leadership role with Digital Envoy and will direct operations for the Digital Element business unit, which will operate from the company’s headquarters in Norcross, Ga. Furthermore, Rob Friedman, a co-founder of Digital Envoy and the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for Digital Element, will lead the business unit’s efforts in the online advertising, local search and analytics space.

Through its patented NetAcuity technology, Digital Element provides digital marketers with the ability to deliver more efficient, effective and targeted online advertising as well as other customized communications to their customers. This non-invasive technology has evolved into more than geographic information and now includes other intelligence factors such as connections speed, domain name, ISP, zip code, and language – based solely on IP addresses. Applications for NetAcuity include:

Advertising

Enables online advertisers and marketers to “geo-target” to a city-level worldwide, increasing advertising reach and message effectiveness. New IP parameters allow for more pinpointed targeting.

Analytics.

Offers analytic companies a new way to view, parse and analyze online data to improve Web performance and site effectiveness. It also provides a real-time mechanism that not only allows customers to analyze data, but also allows them to take immediate action.

Local Search Optimization.

Allows search engines to differentiate what may otherwise be perceived as a standard, “one-size-fits-all” offering. This technology provides the ability to serve geographically targeted paid search results and content customizable by various IP factors.

“Customers and partners will have a seamless transition, continuing to benefit from our industry leadership, high-performance platforms, exemplary customer service and a laser focus on the issues and trends affecting the Internet,” Calpin added.
