VUBIQUITY Deploys Digital Element’s Hyperlocal IP Geolocation Technology for Enhanced Geographic Rights Management

Industry-leading IP geolocation technology deployed to ensure more accurate global compliance with geographic rights regulations

London, UK – 8 March 2017 – Digital Element, the leading provider of IP geolocation technology, today announced that VUBIQUITY, a global leader in premium content services, has deployed its NetAcuity hyperlocal IP geolocation technology to enhance its geographic rights management capability globally—with a particular focus on Africa and Latin America.

VUBIQUITY works with hundreds of film studios, television networks, and independent content owners to provide premium content to more than 1,100 global video distributors, reaching almost 109 million households. With the need for live and on-demand content to be accessible on-the-go, as well as at home, content owners require that providers implement effective IP geolocation filtering technologies within their content distribution platforms, to maintain distribution rights.

Operating a cost-effective business, VUBIQUITY offers a full scope of managed services from licensing to delivery, including digital and over-the-top content distribution to major media and video providers. VUBIQUITY needed to find an IP geolocation provider that would offer accurate and reliable data for African and Latin American regions. The company selected Digital Element’s IP Intelligence and geolocation solution, NetAcuity, to access very accurate, comprehensive IP datasets that have global coverage and are continually updated. NetAcuity is the defacto standard IP geolocation data in the industry, which enables actionable information about online users such as geographic location, proxies, and virtual private networks (VPNs)—all while respecting the user’s right to privacy.

“We needed to access data in the African and Latin-American regions, and while the studios we work with do offer a list of approved IP geolocation technology providers, many of the companies tend to operate only in very specific parts of the world,” explained Allan Dembry, CIO, Head of Global Engineering, VUBIQUITY. “Digital Element’s NetAcuity is the gold standard in the industry, and we take comfort in knowing that we are using reliable, high quality geographic proxy and VPN datasets, which meet the studios’ licensing requirements.”

Digital Element is the global leader and industry pioneer in IP geolocation technology. Its intelligence solution provides the most detailed, hyperlocal dataset available worldwide today that complies with the highest standards of end-user privacy.

Charlie Johnson, Digital Element’s Vice President, UK and Ireland, commented: “We are very excited to be working with such a rapidly-growing, global company as VUBIQUITY, to help improve the service it provides to studios and distributors. The ability to holistically evaluate user location along with proxy is invaluable, and our technology is empowering VUBIQUITY to uncover actionable insights into the behaviours of online viewers—while protecting their right to privacy—to deliver the best possible viewing experience for customers around the world.”

VUBIQUITY joins some of Digital Element’s other high-profile data management and advertising platform clients including Channel 5, Teads.tv, YouView, Hulu, CNN, Disney Interactive, Sony Pictures, Turn, Videology, ESPN, and many others.

Digital Element Continues to Innovate Within the Mobile Ad Tech Space

More Companies Realize the Value of IP-Based Mobile Targeting

AD:TECH NEW YORK & ATLANTA – November 2, 2016 – The profusion of mobile devices has changed the way companies reach and engage with customers. Marketing tactics now involve delivering content tailored not only to where people are in the customer journey, but also to where they are physically located, and when and how they access their information. Starting today, Digital Element will share its latest mobile advertising technology solutions with attendees at ad:tech New York, Nov. 2-3, 2016.

“Successful mobile marketing is really about delivering contextual relevance―content applicable to a specific moment in time,” said Rob Friedman, executive vice president, Digital Element. “A person’s location can provide much more insight about who they are based on demographic and other lifestyle contextual assumptions. We want marketers to understand that IP-based data plays an important role in both the mobile and connected digital world.”

Data Accuracy Is Key for Mobile Attribution and Marketing Analytics

AppsFlyer, the global leader in mobile attribution and marketing analytics, is an example of a company that empowers advertisers with unbiased and transparent attribution analytics driven by reliable, accurate and impactful data.

AppsFlyer deployed Digital Element’s NetAcuity Pulse™, the revolutionary IP targeting solution that allows clients to more effectively target both mobile and connected traffic. Specifically, Digital Element’s IP data has proven to be a “very valuable component” within the AppsFlyer analytics dashboard. For example, AppsFlyer’s clients can see where app installs and activities are occurring throughout different regions in the world. Digital Element Introduces NetAcuity Pulse Plus, the First IP-Based ZIP+4 Location Targeting Solution

New Offering Layers on to Mobile-Device-Derived Data to Provide Marketers with More Granularity

Atlanta, GA – April 20, 2016 – Continuing to address mobile marketers’ growing needs for more accurate and deeper data, Digital Element, the leading provider of IP Intelligence and geolocation solutions, today announced the newest edition to its NetAcuity platform of products with the introduction of Pulse Plus, the first IP-based ZIP+4 location targeting technology.

Pulse Plus is a first-of-its-kind ZIP+4 targeting solution that combines the device-derived data of NetAcuity Pulse with Digital Element’s proprietary technology that produces reverse-geocoding data feeds. Available for flat-file implementation, Pulse Plus combines this new intelligence with geographic shape and boundary files to produce the next generation of ZIP code targeting within the United States. Additionally, the Pulse Plus ZIP+4 data can be combined with demographics to produce even more granular and precise targeting for marketers.

“When we launched NetAcuity Pulse in 2014, it was the industry’s first mobile-centric IP targeting solution, and we have continued to research and develop the product in order to provide new depths of precision,” said Rob Friedman, executive vice president, Digital Element. “Pulse Plus represents the next evolution of the product, delivering the first comprehensive IP-to-ZIP+4 targeting offering that provides marketers with even more granularity. So many of our customers already use demographic data, but now they can combine that with Pulse Plus for more precise targeting. This will allow marketers to more accurately segment―and target―audiences with relevant messages wherever they live, work, travel and shop.”

ZIP+4 data is especially beneficial to marketers that want to target very specific audiences concentrated in more pinpointed locations within the United States. The following are examples of how companies across a number of industries can use this type of precision targeting:

  • Restaurants may drive in more local diners by advertising specials to neighborhoods/businesses with ZIP codes within a 5-mile drive of the establishment.
  • Universities might advertise to ZIP codes that contain large high schools, encouraging students to visit the campus to learn more about higher-education opportunities in their local areas.
  • Retailers may drive in-store traffic by targeting ZIP codes with certain household incomes or business locales near other establishments (i.e. hotels, restaurants, etc.).
  • Political campaigns can deliver specific advertising and messages to key constituents in local districts, for example where voter turn-out is low or where candidates want to gain grassroots momentum.

In terms of ZIP+4 data granularity, these digits identify more pinpointed areas—such as a group of apartments or office buildings—or a high-volume mail receiver within a five-digit delivery zone to help with mail sorting and delivery. The sixth and seventh digits of ZIP+4 indicate a “delivery sector,” such as a group of streets, P.O. boxes, a group of buildings, or even a single high-rise building. The eighth and ninth digits designate a “delivery segment,” such as a specific side of a street, a floor in an office or apartment building, or a specific department within a large office.

Team Internet enables advertisers to access high-converting direct navigation traffic by precisely targeting the ads that appear on parked domains in real-time. The company’s two core products, DNTX — a text ad and zero-click advertising network — and ParkingCrew — an advanced domainparking platform — work in unison. Kate Owen, Vice President, Northern Europe, Digital Element, commented: “We are very much looking forward to working with Team Internet and helping them to enhance their targeting capability. Our geolocation technology enables precise geographic targeting, reducing wasted impressions and ensuring the company’s advertising clients will receive the maximum impact and revenue from direct navigation search campaigns. TrafficStars.com Takes IP Geotargeting to A New Level with Digital Element’s Location-based Technology, NetAcuity Pulse

Industry-leading IP geolocation technology selected to improve advertising performance

London, UK – 16 March 2016 – Digital Element, the leading provider of IP geolocation technology, today announced that global ad network, TrafficStars.com, has deployed its NetAcuity Pulse™ hyperlocal IP geolocation technology, to improve location based ad targeting.

TrafficStars is a self-serve proprietary ad network providing technical and marketing solutions to advertisers and publishers worldwide. The use of Digital Element’s IP geolocation solution, which includes mobile carrier data, will empower the company to accurately determine a user’s location whether they are browsing on desktop or mobile devices. The inclusion of mobile carrier data allows TrafficStars to offer campaigns targeted to specific mobile carriers, which can be used, for example, to deploy loyalty campaigns or to promote apps that are carrier specific.

Deploying NetAcuity Pulse™ increases reach, accuracy and targeting ability within postcodes, globally, by harnessing new insights derived from combining wifi connected mobile traffic and internet infrastructure analysis. This provides Trafficstars with unrivalled IP-based geographic targeting precision for online advertising across multiple devices, reducing wasted impressions and increasing ROI for its clients.

“It is vital our geolocation capabilities meet the needs of our clients,” explained Geoffrey Bonnechèrem co-founder, TrafficStars. “By incorporating Digital Element’s IP geolocation technology into our platform, we have access to highly accurate location data that vastly improves the effectiveness of our geotargeting. Having tested Digital Element’s data against that of their competitors, Digital Element proved to be the best performing IP provider by a large margin.”

Digital Element’s NetAcuity Pulse™ uses a network of IP location information derived from mobile devices, billions of on-device-location transactions, and internet routing infrastructure. This more precise – yet privacy-sensitive – global online targeting method is based on where a user is located and connected at a specific point in time, regardless of device. Information can include whether or not the connection is being made through a wifi network, the user’s point-in-time geographic location, and whether a home or business hotspot is in use. The benefits of using wifi targeting include increased revenues, better return on investment, stronger brand loyalty, and improved consumer engagement.

Elena Vega, Digital Element’s Southern Europe Business Development Director, commented: “We are very excited to be working with TrafficStars, enabling them to provide enhanced targeting and facilitate the delivery of contextually relevant advertising to their client’s audiences. Mobile is paramount in the modern advertising world and we are proud to enable TrafficStars with the capability to anonymously geotarget consumers on mobile, as well as desktop.”

TrafficStars joins Digital Element’s portfolio of high-profile clients which includes: Microsoft, Weborama, Vibrant Media, MediaMath, Crimtan, Infectious Media, Webtrekk, eXelate, Mashero, InSkin Media AOL’s ADTECH, APSIS, and Yahoo’s BlueLithium.
