CNP Expo 2016: A Freeze Fraud Flashback
Last week, we paid a visit to the “Happiest City on Earth” as exhibitors at the annual CNP Expo in Orlando. We enjoyed networking and having conversations with attendees from such a wide array of industries, from payment firms to retailers to other fraud-prevention vendors about how to use geolocation for fraud detection and security. While most of the discussions revolved around profiling web visitors (i.e. who are they, where are they coming from, are they legitimate or do they have more sinister intent, etc.), it’s safe to say that everyone seemed singularly focused on trying to stay one step ahead of fraudsters, especially knowing that they can morph quicker than Queen Elsa can cast an icy spell. Layered security and validating transactions were also popular topics.
For those of you who were unable to attend this year’s event, in the spirit of our #FreezeFraud booth theme, we’ve recapped the top three discussions and buzz-worthy topics from the event in true “Frozen” form:
“You can’t marry a man you just met.” – Elsa
This may have been tough for Anna to hear from Elsa, but it’s just good advice, especially if you’re looking for a fraud-prevention partner to safeguard your company’s assets and revenues. Similarly, we found many of our booth visitors were eager to learn more about the type of IP Intelligence and geolocation data we provide, including location, connection type, and proxies, to name a few. Additionally, everyone was keen to hear about the accuracy and reliability of our data―the industry’s only MRC-accredited IP geolocation data.
“Ice is my life!” – Kristoff
Geolocation is our life, and we’re just as excited about the benefits of our fraud-prevention solutions as Kristoff was about the ice palace. We help a number of leading companies shore up fraud controls, strengthen digital profiles, balance risk management, detect proxies, and reinforce the customer online shopping experience.
“Let the storm rage on! The cold never bothered me anyway.” – Elsa
While Queen Elsa is well-equipped to weather an icy fraud storm, there are still companies with their revenue models built around online business (mostly small- to mid-sized organizations), that have unfortunately taken an “It Won’t Happen to Me” attitude, making them especially vulnerable to CNP fraud. Fraud attacks on U.S. online merchants have risen 11 percent since Oct. 1, 2015 (i.e. the EMV liability shift). Our solution offers a cost-effective and easy-to-implement way to provide a safe and secure environment for online customers―through a single technology that has been proven to reduce online fraud by more than 90 percent.
Is your company looking to take that first step to building an online security or fraud-prevention strategy? Not sure what to do with your current fraud-detection solution? Well, it just might be time to “Let it Go” and find out what our NetAcuity solutions can do for your online business.
