We are pleased to announce additions to NetAcuity databases! Click the highlights below to find out more:
Changes in Latitude/Longitude Values
Starting Friday, March 13, 2020, the latitude and longitude data elements will be rounded to the second decimal place in the following databases:
- Geography Database (Feature 3)
- Edge Database (Feature 4)
- Pulse Database (Feature 26)
- Pulse Plus Database (Feature 30)
While an individual user's latitude and longitude has never been returned -- latitude and longitude is an aggregation of data points -- in order to be sensitive to user privacy, Digital Element will now round the presented latitude and longitude values to the second decimal place. Please keep in mind that Digital Element's internal methodology and data sources are not changing how an IP address is accurately mapped to a geographical location. You can remain confident in the accuracy of the returned response even after being rounded as the determined geographic location's latitude and longitude is only being rounded as the database builds are finalized for delivery. One side effect of this change may be shrinking the size of the delivered database due to reduced fragmentation of ranges.
Digital Element's Pulse database continues to expand its lead in the market due to a heavy investment in new third party data sources and data science methodologies. This means you are leveraging the world's most accurate and granular IP data available. Based on recent tests, the Pulse database in now roughly three times more accurate at the postal code level than other solutions on the market. If you're in need of the most accurate and granular data on the market, and are still using NetAcuity Standard Geography or Edge databases, contact your Digital Element sales representative to discuss upgrading.
Please email tech-support@digitalelement.com if you have any questions or need to know who your sales representative is in order to upgrade to Pulse.
SIC Database (Feature Code 5) Sunsetting Reminder
As a reminder, the final SIC database release went out on January 2, 2020. Beginning in February 2020, we will stop producing and delivering the SIC database (feature code 5).
If you currently license the SIC database, please contact your account representative with any questions about your license agreement regarding the SIC database. The SIC database functionality is replaced by the NetAcuity NAICS database (feature code 18). Your account representative can assist you with licensing the NAICS database.
If you have any questions regarding the end of the SIC database or need to know who your account representative is please reach out to tech-support@digitalelement.com for assistance.
